I am grateful for all the pregnant CDMWR who remind me, life must go on.
I'm having a hard time with all of the 9/11 coverage, too. In years past, I just tried to avoid it, but this year it seems like it's everywhere. I am so sorry for your losses. That must make this even worse.

Amazingly, we didn't lose any friends or family (I'm from LI, which is where we lived at the time), but everyone we know was impacted on a daily basis to some extent or another. I've always said I don't need to relive it, because I still have the very vivid memories. It upsets me to no end when it is talked about as just a political thing or a piece of history (which of course it is as well, I suppose). My heart goes out to those many, many people who I know sustained much deeper wounds than I did.

Your bolded above says it perfectly, IMO.

And as I'm writing this, Little Girl Ewag is kicking like crazy.

You seriously need to get closer to our time zones - once a week checking in doesn't cut it.

We got hooked on watching America's Got Talent.

There is a black guy with dreds who sings Frank Sinatra - he's amazing. That's why we keep watching. It's such a fabulous combination.

Don't discount the possibility of a little early dementia or confusion, depending on your definition of "elderly". A lot of medical conditions can accelerate mental decline.

Aw, you're the sweetest! Cleanup is going ok - still pulling water out of the carpet and it's beginning to smell rather unpleasant, despite fans and other stopgap measures. I'll be happy when we can get it ripped out and replaced and move on to other things!!

My dad's actually coming into town this afternoon to watch DS tonight so I can go to my first ever Parent-Teacher Night! So at least we'll have some company
