A friend sent me this article and I've got to whole heartedly agree. As the mother of two girls I'm glad to know that my girls are not asking for this stuff and actually are shocked when they see girls wearing such and if it's their friends they are not afraid to say something to them.
Completely agree
It really is appalling.
My 15 year old dresses fashionably, but never revealingly and has commented
more than once on how distasteful it is for girls her age to wear push up bras and low cut cleavage baring tops. But its not the store's fault, every store has clothing that is appropriate or not, its the parents who allow their daughters to dress in such a way.
I am no fan of sexy wear for preteens. But what I really take issue with is calling any woman who wears a push up bra or dares to show a bit of skin a "tramp". Or any other derogatory term you want to call a woman who, in 2011, is free to live her life according to her own standards.
I'm sick and tired of women putting down other women by calling them out on their sexuality. Live and let live, people.

I read the article and he was talking about an 8 years old. Hardly a teen. Not a woman.
No, but if you read the article you would understand. These kids are being dressed extremelly sexualized (sort of the clothes you would expect from a sex worker).
I am not a prude, but I do believe in modest clothing in public. If you dress like a prostitute, even if you are not MOST people would assume sex is all you have to offer.

I read the article. I am no fan of preteens dressing like adult women. But I take exception to the statement that because a woman likes to wear push up bras and show a bit of skin that she is automatically assumed to be a prostitute (if not an actual one, then it's presumed she acts like one).
How extremely sad that in this day and age that wearing a push up bra makes people assume that sex is all you have to offer.
