Most children and adolescents do not need sports drinks according to a clinical report published in the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The report also finds that energy drinks are never appropriate for children or teenagers– water should be the primary beverage choice.

who the hell are the idiots that give their kids energy drinks in the first place?????? why not just let them smoke and drink whiskey all day instead? it's probably healthier for them!

Oh man! I was really hoping to get my 6 year old hooked on energy drinks. You guys spoiled my plans. I was wanting to see if energy drinks would have the opposite effect on a naturally hyper kid or if she would just start running around and jumping and screaming, etc so much that she would cause the world to tilt on it's axis.

Oh well. I guess those plans are scrapped now.

I can remember when gatorade first came out. I thought it tasted like sweaty punch and never tried it again. I'm a water guy although if I'm really sweaty after mowing I'll drink a V 8 to get some potassium and sodium in me. Then its... cold Icy Tea.
I saw an elderly( okay 65 or so) couple buying Rock Star energy drinks. I thought don't get a stroke or a heart attack.

I have seen parents pouring Mountain Dew into their baby's bottle. Yes, baby! Probably 9 months old or so, not even walking.

I have read the theory that ADD is actually overly-caffeinated kids, going into withdrawal from their sodas since they can't have them during school.

Ok. After reading this thread, I can't get the movie Idiocracy out of my head. "It has Electrolytes!" and "you want us to use toilet water on the plants?"

This thread is only news if you are living in that movie.
