I've been saying that for days. So why are you arguing with me? no one has said that it is not ok to work. We are only defending ourselves after being told staying home is worthless.

Do you not see the difference between a school aged child and and infant or toddler?

What makes you think that people who plan this way cannot pay their property tax?

It's a matter of planning and you *can* stay at home and still plan depending on your situation. We are retired currently, but we have NEVER had a problem paying our taxes. It took good financial planning on our part, but not only did we have our retirement worked out, but we had our kids college funds too because we started those funds from the day the kids were born.

Not at all, but if you think having money will magically erase your fears and insecurities, you're in for a unpleasant surprise.

Well, you tell me if that's how you feel. Is it shallow for a mom, married to a man who can provide, to also work so that she can provide for her family?

And I never said that there is anything wrong with being a working mom. I've been a working mom. I will be a working mom again, so go find someone else to argue with.

If you are now retired, and are a "nana" , I can only assume that you are in your 60s or beyond. If you lived in my city, you'd have a property tax freeze. You might have a pension (not a 401k), and you would have been able to take advantage of an extraordinary stock market ride. How lucky- times now are very, very different. Congratulations on your retirement!

I have not seen anyone on this thread trying to say that in any way. So far, I have read (repeatedly) from every poster on this thread that they shoud live their lives the way that best suits their families. The big "debate" on here is about the way one poster has been condescending to the SAHMs
