I've been trying to get this taken care of but no one has been listening.
And my manager took me off the schedule last week, like unassigned me yet when I came in that Thursday after being at my security job every one was like why did you call in sick? I was like I didn't call in sick. So it was put down as I called in sick....
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you not go into work one day, when you were scheduled to work, because it snowed? I seem to recall you saying you were going back to bed. The other CO posters said it wasn't that bad of a storm and they were all out and about anyway.
If you did skip work one day, (or was it more than one? I can't remember) that could be why they "unassigned" you. Standard practice in the business world is to give the hours to an employee they KNOW is going to show up. And if you don't come in because it snows but all the other employees show up the boss is going to think you aren't very motivated.
Again, if I'm wrong about your taking the snow day let me know.
That's not what I asked. Have you called you co-workers to find someone to cover your shift, or have you just told the manager you can't work? There is a difference.
I'd like an answer to this. When I waited tables, I had to call around to find a replacement even when I was sick. Once the schedule was out, it was out, and it wasn't up to the manager to find a replacement for me.
That does seem fishy that they would not have you on the schedule and then when you came in everyone was told that you had called in sick when you didn't. Something is not adding up. Why would they say that you called in sick when you obviously didn't call because you didn't even know you were supposed to work? It does sound like they may be trying to push you out of your job without actually firing you.
Does anyone have any favorite gingerbread recipes? I want to make a gingerbread house from scratch. We tried one of those kits last year and it was an absolute disaster. I think scratch would be easier.

I do! Great Grandma's. Let me see if I can cut and paste.
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup molasses
1 cup milk
1 TBS. vinegar OR lemon juice
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. vinegar
5 cups flour
Sour the milk by adding 1 TBS. of vinegar or lemon juice to 1 cup milk. Cream shortening and blend with granulated and brown sugar. Stir in molasses and sour milk. Sift together 3 cups flour, soda, powder, salt, and spices. Add to first mixture. Add vinegar. Add rest of flour. Chill overnight. Roll out to about 1/4" thick and cut with a 2 1/2" cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Bake at 400 degrees 8-10 minutes.
I just read in the news that some weirdo is hucking meatballs laced with poison and medical marijuana into people's yards in my neighborhood, making dogs sick. What a deranged person.
