Wow. I almost posted pics of some peacock feathers for you to use as color inspiration. If you use the colors right, you can still use the peacock.

I have a friend who has tons of cobalt blue in her home. It is beautiful, but it just isn't "me." My dishes have blues and greens, so I'd like to bring a little blue back into the main living area, but I'm not sure how. Maybe some Pier 1 pillows!
Re becoming old ladies: How old is old? I think once you get to be about 80, you are an old lady, and are going to look like an old lady no matter what you do. I do think people are maybe putting it off longer than they used to... maybe? My parents are in their late 60's. My dad is comfortable in his levis and white tennis shoes. My mom doesn't wear elastic waist pants yet. They listen to good music. My mom has the short hair thing going on. She had long blond hair in her 20's. I can already tell my hair doesn't behave like it used to. Maybe that's why old ladies cut it all off.

Ha! Mine too. But they're called "yoga pants", so it's ok! Just call yours "Dew Wear" or something, and it'll be ok, Dew.

I was shocked-- and I don't use that term lightly-- by Scalia's comment that there is nothing in the Constitution forbidding the execution of innocent people. Good lord, what have we become?
As for the man executed, I don't know enough to say. In general, I'm not a fan of capital punishment; I also know perfectly reasonable people who support it. I guess I'm just old, and troubled by the whole thing. My kids just sort of listen and keep their mouths shut when Mom is going on a soapbox, and generally lean the same way I do, though occasionally I suspect YMA would happily hand out the death penalty for dress code violations at school.
