I do not understand why "gayness" has to be hidden/not talked about/ignored anyway.

LOL, yes, I am clearly fairly new to this particular forum. The real estate folks can be pretty tough, but not like this!

I would have let my kids watch it at any age becasue I never censored much. Stuff either goes over kids heads or sparks a convo you wouldn't ordinarily think to bring up. If they ask then they are old enough to get an answer and it doesn't have to be detailed, just a sentence will often do nicely. That's all I've got to say.

1) It does not, but does it NEED to be addressed at the age of 6, (which is what the original question was)?

2) It is not just the gayness, it is the sexuality, drugs, etc.

My almost 6 yr old has seen it, but she rarely is paying attention to everything... I don't say " hey, let's watch Glee together, but if it is on, I don't change it".

My older daughter ( almost 9), was watching DWTS when Chaz Bono. Was talking about being a girl... That was interesting to explain....

We had to address that issue a few years ago when one of my spouse's coworkers changed his gender. Another conversation I didn't see coming.

Yup I am not much of a censor either.

I took my daughter to go see Rent when she was 13 or so. She loved it and the "love your neighbor" message but it was funny when the movie came out because she kept saying "I don't remember that part". Apparently the more sexual stuff went over her head even at that age.
