Wow. How about eye brow waxing? It is the same thing, just another body part. Or is brow waxing okay? I took my daughter for brow waxing at 12. She looked so much better.

I think brow waxing is ok at 12. I just think it is kind of weird for an 11 year old girl to have someone down there giving a bikini wax. That is a much more private area than the face. That is just my feelings on it though and I am sure others will have a different feeling.

Now there's a book that got everyone's attention when it was first published. Early 70's. You could pick out a liberal because they kept it on their bookshelves. The conservatives kept it in their nightstand drawer.

People are uptight about anything to do with areas around sex organs. A person might see her... GASP... THIGH.

And with reason--an eleven year old is a child.

I think if someone is giving an 11 or 12 year old child a bikini wax, they would be seeing A LOT more than her "thigh".

Please read this article:
Beware the Killer Bikini Wax | Women's Health Magazine
Most 11 year old girls I know either wouldn't think anything of the signs of an infection or would be too embarrassed to tell their mom about it. It is much easier to spot if it is an eyebrow wax.
I don't really want to risk it with my daughter. I would rather hand her a razor.

It's not that it worked fine for millions of years just people didn't have the means to get rid of it.
I would totally not shave anything with a razor from the 1800's.
But with the razors I have now its a totally different story.

My sister works in a Salon and recently she has taken over as the esthetician. And she recently gave her first bikini wax (not Brazilian, her salon doesn't do them). She told me it was more uncomfortable for her to wax the girl than the girl was to get waxed. The look on her face was so funny when she told me.
This wasn't really in response to your post, just sharing a bit of funny info.
