That's supposed to be shouldn't.
People are always refering back to the constitution and what our country is founded on but they don't realise that things are different these days and if we were to go by the values that were present when the country was founded then we would be in major conflict of what people believe today.

But--"They" do realize that some things are different today--The values that were present when the country was founded are still valid today. The Constitution has been ammended to add to it. Wisely it is not fast or easy to do.

13 year olds handed free birthcontrol meds, without their parents knowledge is not a "value" that is popular today either.

You want to debate the Constitution? I'm ready.

Move this over to POC or History where it belongs and we shall debate.

I am dying, simply dying, to learn what you know about what amounted to a vast revision to the Articles of Confederation and your opinions on how it can be applied to the moral climate of our country today.

I feel this is a failure of the education system.

Without it you may become a grandparent sooner. But maybe not a proud one.

Excuse me?!?
It's what I hear from watching the news.
I also haven't been in high school since 2008.

Yeah, people aren't dumb enough to realize that things are different now. The principles, however, are the same. I'm pretty darn sure the founding fathers would have said a huge "heck no" to the federal government providing birth control. By the way, you are aware the Constitution can be amended?

In my state, this is a pretty popular "value" actually. I'm 100% sure it would pass if put on a ballot, especially since the voters already passed one stating that minors can get abortion without parental consent. Birth control would pass much easier than that one did.

But not meds--without careful discussion of family medical history, parents are needed for that, and we are talking about 13 yr. olds -in my opinion.
