After eating a very nice dinner with my folks tonight I had another thought. Instead of a no children restaurant, I would love to eat at a no cell phone restaurant.

Already tried that, I used to get off work at midnight and go to the grocery after that, screaming children everywhere in the grocery and the all night walmart.

I don't agree with banning children outright. That isn't right as not all children are misbehaved.

But I do think restaurants should require parents to take their children out of the restaurant when they act up, start crying or lose their temper.

Same goes for adults as well. If an adult acts up and is too loud, they should be required to leave.

they would be allowed in restaurants if parents that were letting their kids make tons of noise and crawl under the tables didn't do that...but alas, they ruined it for all of you.

If they could all just have a "speak only loudly enough for your hearing-abled dinner companions to hear you and not the people sitting two tables behind you" rule, I think there would be no need for debates about children at restaurants. Or complaints about cell phones. Or adults yelling at each other. Or Aunt Jo, who refuses to turn up the volume of her hearing aid.

Or maybe all restaurants should just hand out free earplugs.
