Have you taken him to a doctor to get an explanation for this?

Is it a sign of changing times and that I'm getting old, or the kind of town I live in? ---just one of those crazy things that makes me wonder.

My kids have always chosen vegetables and fruit over junk food so for me it is not that unusual.

I have one that loves it with a little bit of butter & garlic; could eat it every day. Other one tolerates nibbling at it; would much rather have raw carrots with or without ranch. They both like edamame.

My father was a meat an potatoes man and my mother rarely cooked anything else. I was determined to introduce all sorts of different food to my kids so broccoli became a staple in our house--at least twice a week along with kale, cauliflower and just about any veggies you can think of except turnips...never could develop a taste for turnips and beets.

Just last night we ate out and my kids begged to get broccoli instead of the fries which came with their meals. Waiter was very shocked and I was very proud.

It really depends on the kid. My niece has always loved veggies. In fact, she'll eat pretty much anything if you tell her it's healthy. There became a problem because her teacher told the class that ice cream is healthy since it's dairy, though.

A couple of years ago I witnessed a girl about 9 or 10 asking her mother in front of a salad bar:

"Mommy, can I have some broccoli?"

True story but I don't remember if I said something to the mother or not. But I at least thought to myself "good girl!"

Broccoli is my favorite vegetable.

My son goes ape sh*t for ponhaus. Most kids wouldn't touch scrapple with a 10 ft pole but he literally salivates for it. My daughter goes nuts for venison schnitzels.

Not much of a junk food family here.

This is really no surprise to me, I enjoyed many a vegetable when I was really young, broccoli, celery, radishes, cauliflower. I couldn't get enough of em. My 2 year old son is the same way, if we are making something with green peppers for dinner, he comes over and asks for some, and has been known to steal it if we don't give it to him. He also will ask for celery, broccoli, and just about any other veggie we have out either for snacking or cooking.

My son eats veggies now (usually roasted or grilled) . . but I can still remember him at age 2, opening the refrigerator door, and advising loudly "NO BROCCI Mommy".
