I've been caught red handed with snacks AND my wife's cheeks in my hand.
This is sooo funny, I to have a similar story.
My son was sleeping and my husband and I had just got some "alone" time. My husband says, wait right here, I have a surprise. So he ran out of the room really quickly only to not return. I waited a long time then I finally walked out and went to the kitchen. There my husband and my son sat eating some ice cream with huge sprays of whipped cream on top. lol
My son looked up beaming, hey mom, he said, I was going pee and saw dad with a big can of whipped cream, he said it was a surprise.
That was the best surprise my son had ever had, sundaes in the middle of the night with his dad.

This thread reminds me of the scene from Airplane! The movie.. Remember Otto the autopilot? Leslie Nielson walks in on the stewardess using the 'emergency inflation tube' Lol

Somehow i don't think that was the sundae he was hoping to eat ~pun can be intended~ .
Adults get to do things that children dont get to do.
I wouls never go to bed at 7pm because i wantes to lead by example.. im not a child.
It depends on what you are requiring the child to do text. There are benefits to children sleeping longer than adults, thus the earlier bedtime makes sense. But it's like admonishing your child for not smoking and putting away 2 packs a day. Your actions in a lot of cases affect your kids, more then what you tell them to do.
