Report back after the talk. I would love to hear how it went.

They are probably 5-6 years old, so keep it really basic. Try something like this.

1) Introduce yourself. Say that you work with computers. Ask if they have ever used a computer before.

2)Show a picture of a computer and point out the different parts: keyboard, mouse, screen, etc.

3)Ask the kids if they or their parents have ever had a computer break. Did it make a funny sound? Did it freeze up? Did the screen turn blue?

4)Tell the kids that computers use secret codes to make them run. Write a string of 0s and 1s on a board or something and explain that it is secret code for the computer. Sometimes there is a mistake in the code, and that can make the computer break. Tell them that it is your job to fix the codes so the computers don't break.

5)Ask the kids if they know other languages besides English. Explain that computers can speak a lot of different computer languages too.

6)Tell the kids that you went to school/college for a LONG TIME to learn about computers. Say that math was very important and ask how many of them like math.

7) Ask if they have questions.
