A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife’s car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall...

I've read it before, it's cute.

It's true that a lot of husbands don't have any idea how much we really do. When I broke my leg, my husband got to do my chores for a little while. Three days into it, he brought home a wheelchair so I'd be able to move around the house and cook. I couldn't get to the washing machine or to the master bathroom, so no laundry got done for a month, and the bathroom didn't get cleaned for longer than that. Fortunately, we had enough kid clothes that they didn't run out of anything during the month and after that, my mom came and did laundry.

Your husband doesn't know how to do laundry or clean a bathroom?

Even I didn't realize how much I do until I had the flu for 10 days, and had to watch my husband try to do it.

My husband got a taste of what I do when I got very sick while we lived in Utah. I was in bed for a week, then ICU for a week, then in bed again for about another 3 weeks. At the time we had a 5 year old daughter and I ended up in the hospital a week before her 6th birthday party. My husband was so frazzled trying to figure everything out. I had my GF cancel the party and he called my parents to come and help with our daughter.

He really had an eye opener as to what I do all day when I wasn't able to do it anymore.

Nope. He used to know back before we got married, but that was 15 years ago. He says the washing machine has gotten more complicated and he doesn't want to hurt it

It used to bother me a lot more, when he had a job where he just sat all day. Now he has a dangerous and physically demanding job and works a lot of overtime besides, so I feel like we're even.

Before my husband got laid off his job, he would say things like what did you do all day, or on the days where things just got away from me, he would say things like if I was home this place would be spotless. Well he got laid off so I was working outside our home for a couple of months. In those months, I spend every evening doing dishes and every weekend cleaning. Because the place certainly wasnt spotless!!
