I'm just now starting my research and thought I'd start with actual consumers. I am looking for sunglasses which will protect their eyes, not something pretty or fashionable. I am willing to pay as much as $100 each and get them chains so they won't lose them. Girls are 10 and pretty responsible.
As an adult I am a lot of eye problems and I'm convinced some of these problems are due to unprotected eyes most of my life.

have you bought good sun glasses for your kids?

Dispensing opticians usually have a good selection of quality sunglasses. Costco has good quality brands too.

You can get sunglasses that are all three. Be sure you get sunglasses that wrap around and protect all of the eye.

I've worn sunglasses pretty much every day of my life since I was about 5. I recommend getting polarized lenses. A good pair reduce a HUGE amount of glare and make a big difference.

One thing to watch for is wide temples on the glasses. (The parts that go from the lenses to the ears.) If they are too wide they cut down on peripheral vision.
