My mom treated me as if I was not worthy of respect
One time I was taking a shower and my older cousin needed to get in the bathroom and my mom said: you can get in.. and my cousin told her that I wasthere and mom said: Na, it's ok get in! Like what's the problem?
I was like I need my privacy! I felt stupid like me taking a shower and my cousin there with the door open as if noone was there. I said my mom and she said with that tone of voice that I hate: so? There's nothing wrong with that?.. No? Nothing?
One time there was mom and dad in the living room and the neighbor asked I don't know what thing and I started talking, well they started talking loudy to shut me up, at the same time , like automatically. I couldn't even finish what I was saying.
She always distort evetything and when I go to explain that it's not that way. She smile, she look at me as if I were noone, turn around and keep talking to the other person. I feel like I'm a toy or that I don't derserve respect.
And the worst thing is that that's affecting me with the others. I started being passive because I know 'noone will listen my arguments'. When I try to say camly to my mom what she's doing, she makes un of me, she ignores me; then I get mad and I talk loudy, now she says that I'm ALWAYS so angry and that peple can''t talk to my because I am to agressive.
I mean that's unhealthy, as if she wanted me to look like a mad crazy person. Sometimes I want to throw something at her face becuasse I can't believe she acts that way, she doesn't listen to anything and the worst thing is that she ridicules me/ minimizes what I say in front of others. I feel stupid. So now when someone doesn't understand or makes fun of someting I said I feel like I want to punch them. Like noone in the world takes me seriously. I want to change it and always I try to talk to my mom but she's very good at what she does.
I'm 24. No, I'm not a teenager but this is stil affecting me.

How old are you? Some things in your post remind me of how my mom treats me.

Oh, I see your update. I'm almost 40, and can still fight with my mom like I was a teen. You probably won't change your mom, but maybe you could see a therapist to help change how you deal with her, and how you relate to other people too.

Respect is the granting of power- and mutual co-operation..You give them power- they give it back.....Ask mum for some power and see if she gives it to you- maybe she is hogging it....be nice.

Are you living in their home? That could be the source of the problem.

That would make it better, but it wouldn't make the problem go away.

There's no "easy solutions" in these cases.
