Because kids are fun -- just about everything I like to do is funner with kids. I get to keep doing the things I did with my own parents but now with my kids.

My reason's not on the list. It's two-fold:

1. I had sex. Which eventually caused

2. Wife became pregnant.

I don't regret it for a minute. Awesome.

I don't have children yet. If I do, I'd want them because I feel it's an obligation.
I'd be married.

It was on the advice of my acccountant regarding tax laws, child care credits, and exemptions. Also, with four girls, I will never need nursing home insurance - I'm raising my own skilled nursing facility.

Nature takes over like a tornado or flash flood. The method for having kids is just so much fun! Then you get hit with the storm. lol
Later you find out that old house they wiped out was actually a good thing.
