How old were you when you had your first baby? Did you like that age? Or do you wish that you were older/younger?

Also, if you could state your country. I've noticed certain countries wait until later to have children.

19 and it was way too young. She is 19 now and I can not imagine her having a child at this age.

We were fortunate that we beat the odds in our situation but waiting would have made us even better off.

I think the trend today is more women are having babies later. I just came back from a bachelorette party and of all my 30-something classmates (10 girls or so) I'm the only one with a kid and I had my first just a couple of years ago. I asked who wanted kids and maybe 3 raised their hands. I was really surprised!!

We started trying in our late 20s so it took a while for us. I wish I got pregnant when we were trying but at the same time, we are more financially stable now than we were 5 years ago so I think it all worked out.

I had turned 24 the day after I had my first in 1984. My kids are 28, 25 and 24...the girls don't want kids, and my son has not said either way..

31 for DD and 37 for DS.

In some ways I would have liked to be younger -- more energy! But overall, I wouldn't change anything. I think back now to my judgment in my 20s and cringe at some thing.

36. I was ready and stable but I found myself wishing I wasn't so much older than the other mothers.

I was 32 for the first, 35 for the second. We had been married for quite awhile, both established in our careers, and were as ready as one can be, I think. I'm older than some moms, younger than others. I wouldn't change it. It works for us.
