Yes, thank God. My mother would chase us through the house with a belt, the buckle was removed. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I got some welts on my legs but never anything more serious than that.

Did anyone see the study a few months ago that linked mental illness with being spanked as a kid. I don't know that I buy it, and I am not sure if I would spank my kids, don't have any. I think time out doesn't work for some kids.
I was and it didn't do one bit of good.
Instead of thinking about what I did wrong and what I did to "deserve" it, I would get so pissed off at being hit that I would go to my room and just be angry about the amount of pain I was in and the fact that she hit me.
All it did was made me hate her for it.

What? It never hurt me and I was my mother's baby, the youngest. I was spoiled really. I guess today's kids are hot house flowers. My mother lived to the old age of 97 and I took care of her for 7 years in my home. God I miss her since she died in '05.

Too bad, I did the same thing, felt sorry for myself. It ended with a hug and a kiss then "go outside and play." You have to grow up someday and forgive your parents, we all do. If you are a good person today then give your parents some pts.
I was physically disciplined by a principal in high school my junior year (not that long ago, 2006 maybe?) for insubordination in class. They made me remove my wallet so they wouldn't "break my driver's license". The whole thing was somewhat comical (and would be even funnier if you saw the guy administering the swat to my rear end). Who spanks a 16 year old and expects them not to laugh about it? I had to bite down on my lip hard to prevent a complete breakdown in laughter.
