YES! I have a 10 year old and it is so difficult to find appropriate clothing for her. Suggestion to others- European clothing - Hanna Anderson, Boden - similar lines have adorable clothing for children while still permitting them to express some creativity (vs. Gap kids - blah!). Its a bit more expensive, but great quality and on sale - a fantastic deal. Hang tight and dont succumb to having these children have to wear inappropriate clothing - they grow up fast enough as it is.

How about toddler underwear that says Eye Candy on them.

Driving through town in our early 20‘s, our friend made a comment about a woman in front us walking. When we went past and saw her face he said, “AUGGH! She’s only 12! AUGGHH!” It was very disturbing to him that he’d just had that thought about a girl. Made him sick.

I get so sick of this. I was looking over some software at Best Buy once and a woman was trying to figure out what to get her daughter. I pointed out some age appropriate software for her 4 year old but she wanted to get her the one about fashion. Her comment about her 4 year old was, “She’ll love it. She’s SOOO high maintenance.

And how about Miley Cyrus. I see so many parents cramming her down their kids thoughts. My 7 years hates her. She asked one day if she was the only person how didn’t like her and I told her to go online and check it out. Then I hear…”Uhh…Mom, I think I’m too young to see these pictures.” Uhh, yeah, they were bad, for a 7 year old. My daughter says she’s disgusting. They were really racy. Type in racy Miley Cryus pictures to get an idea. That is not what my daughter typed but she still came across some of them. Very sad! She’s headed on the same road as Lindsey Lohan. Just the kind of role model I want my child to be looking at in 5 years. Racy Miley Cyrus Pictures Making The Internet Rounds Again | ChatterShmatter

I really like Miley Cyrus, actually. I think if parents think she's a bad role model...turn off the damn tv! don't take your kid to the movie! don't buy the cd!

but don't ruin it for people who are old enough to make the decision to listen to her.

Here is a picture I took last month in a small town in the state of Nayarit, Mexico. All Mexican school girls wear their uniforms this short. This is not excepltional, I just hapened to be sitting in a sidewalk taqueria and I took the opportunity to snap it. The difference is, Mexican school girls live in a civilized country, where there is respect for what Americans call family values. nobody bothers them walking home from school, the boys their age are too shy to do anything around them except try to attract their attention, which is part of the game. At night, after dark, they are at home with their families. Everybody in town can name each of these girls, and they know who their families are. Nobody has a chance to get anywhere near getting in trouble. When that breaks down, as it has in the US, the girls could wear snow-suits and get into trouble. In America, as in Mexico, how they dress is a part of playing the game. But different game.

There is a strong tradion in Latin America of women using their beauty to their advantage. These girls are just practicing.

Hmmm, wonder why Mexico fares #5 highest teen pregnancy rate in the world beaten only by Niger, Nigeria, Brazil and South Africa and Mexican movies just not so long ago started glorifying everything sexual totally out of proportion...

Default Look OK to me

This picture looks fine to me. The girls look like girls. They look sporty rather than sexy.

First, Mexico's rate of .064 is not a great deal worse than that of the USA, .053,

Second you have to put it into an age context. These are the figures for ages 15-19. By the time Mexican girls are 19, there is a high likelihood that that they are in a traditional parenting relationship. The number of 15-yo Mexican girls who become pregnant is much smaller, and also much more heavily weighted toward rural low-income environments.

Third, girls in all third-world countries, if they are sexually active, are at much higher risk of pregnancy, owing to absence of effective birth control.

The simple fact remains that Mexican girls who are in an economic demographic that has them going to school regularly have a much lower incidence of pregnancy before the age of about 17, but then it rises sharply with numbers of pregnancies that are not unwanted.

The presence of Saudi Arabia in the top ten should clarify what I'm talking about. Every Saudi girl is very strictly sealed off from any exposure whatsoever to the western world and its morality. Instead, Saudi girls are in arranged marriages by about 16, and begin their life as mothers. It would be absurd to attribute high teen-pregnancy rates in Saudi Arabia to the supposition that Saudi school girls flaunt what they've got while hanging out after school in malls and street corners. They would be publicly flogged for doing that, and in at least one case spectacularly publicised by the US hate-media, stoned to death.

I'm so glad I never dated through school. I wore what I wanted to; did I sometime dress revealing? I suppose I did, at a few points. The phase and novelty wears off, however, as a girl matures.

It is a parent's job not to embrace that phase but let their daughter know why certain girls dress like that and how in the end it is not the best choice.
Ah boys... a woman w/o a man is like a monkey w/o a jackhammer, does a monkey NEED a jackhammer? No.....
