It happens. Years ago when I was 15, I was babysitting for a family for the first time. The daughter who was 3 was in bed and as the father left, he told the 7year old to go to bed.
So after about 20 mins, the boy ran into where I was watching tv. He told me there was a fire. Well, ok, they lived in the country and I thought it was a farmer lighting a fire as they do often on a summers night in Ireland.

Nope ; it was under the parents bed and way to big to put it out. So I call 999, get the kids out and watch.

Luckily it only wrecked the parents room and was water damage in the rest of the house.

But it thought the child a lesson. I tell my own kids that lesson now.And it frightened the life out of me for weeks after
