What age do your kids stop letting you force them to do things?

7th and 8th grade seemed to be the hardest time to influence my son . There is no public transportation or after activities bus coming from school. We did year around sports in high school and if he wanted rides home for his friends he didn't want me bitching at him during the ride. Once they start driving to school themselves the words"ride school bus" really settle an argument quickly.

Ditto. I can only imagine the wrath I would have brought upon myself had I told my mother I refused to do something.
