That is what I am wondering. If they have some sort of suspicion the kid isn't theirs why can't they take ownership of the decision to get a paternity test.

I wouldn't stop my husband at any time if he wanted a paternity test. I think it would be naive to say though that I wouldn't have any thoughts or opinions on it, and I shouldn't express them because they might make him afraid. But hey, my husband isn't the kind of guy who would want big brother to make something mandatory because he'd be too afraid to address the issue on his own.

Obviously they guys who are too afraid to pursue paternity testing without government intervention are the guys who are too afraid to lobby for it to become law.

My brother and SIL adopted a child. Are they both being stupid?

Because they are weak little feminine freaks. Sort of like white knights who wont pass up an opportunity to stand up for womans respect and honor.. haha

I don't think those days were ever here to begin with...

There were liars and cons back in "those days" like there are in these days. Nothing new under the sun.

You never know actually, I thought I was beyond help. He's just not going to get the help that he needs (professional) here.

Living with trust issues is a really sad way to live. Then when it gets to the point where you can't even trust yourself... OUCH!!!

I used to call myself trustworthy, then I got a rude awakening. Now, I just live the best life that I can and let my actions speak for me.

We're seeing it now with cheaper DNA sequencing/genotyping. Person logs into his account, checks his DNA Relatives results and sees he has a half-sibling he never knew about, or that person and his sibling share only one quarter of their DNA. It is still a fairly low number though.

Paternity testing: Personal genomics companies will reveal DNA secrets.

It's a lot faster than sifting through old documents. Yeah I knew George Clooney was my brother.

If there are no secrets in a marriage - they wouldn't need a paternity test in the first place.
