Thanks.
I've got rods and screws in my back so that helps keep everything together. I just have to wait for them to fuse a little and then I can go back to work.
Honestly I feel like I could go back now as long as I wasn't listing heavy things and could sit occasionally which is possible.

I know it feels like that but they have you out that long for a reason. The docs know what they are doing. You don't want long term issues to develop from rushing back.

They encourage me to be active.
I can't lose my promotion by being replaced. I'd be crushed and very angry. I wouldn't get over it.

Would you rather lose your promotion or be paralyzed from going back too soon?

If you are out on disability, don't they have to save an equivalent position for you?

Being reasonably active within doctor's parameters is not the same as working a full day. It may be you have to go back part time at first. Either way, your employer will most likely not allow you to return without a medical release, so you need to follow medical advice to a T.

She's just waiting on me I say I'm ready. She already told me I can come to the meetings on Saturday if I want and training seminars at the office.

Still, if you are out for medical reasons, it might still apply.

As long as I have my brace on I'll be fine. I could handle walking around at work, selling stuff. As long as I don't life anything I should be fine.
