So how y'all feel about it? Are breastfeeding selfies the new thing to do?

Selfies of any kind are tacky.

Selfie is a picture you take of your self. That is clearly a picture taken by someone else.

And posting one picture does not a trend make. Today I saw a video of a mother driving a minivan into the ocean, that does not mean there is a movement of minivan moms driving into the sea.

I think they're tacky. I was a proud breastfeeding mom, too, but the photos I took were for me and for me alone. I don't see the need to share them with the whole world.

I think most people can do with less sharing of photos in social media. Yes, definitely nice to have some birth announcements and a few photos for your friends, but we do not need to SEE a baby with all the blood and with the umbilical cord still intact or that it really is your child by showing to everyone where it came out. And we do not need to SEE that your baby is breastfeeding. You can keep some photos for your own memories, but sharing it for all the world to see is a bit too much. If you are in doubt whether the photos are inappropriate or not, or if it may have a slight chance of offending some people, just do not post it, because you are most likely sharing TOO MUCH.

Why have people been creating sensationalism and controversy about breastfeeding which has been the way we've fed babies since the beginning of mankind? What's next, are people going to start sharing photos of themselves sitting on the toilet (while dressed up like models, psh)?

I think mothers should be modest.

Clearly not a selfie. I think this particular photo is an example of someone wanting to attract a lot attention. Pretty tacky in my opinion.
