Hi all.....I have an odd request...my 6yr old has recently been tentatively diagnosed with post strep glomerulonephritis. Has anyone else had a child (or as a child) dealt with this before? The Drs say its pretty rare, its the first case that her pediatrician has seen, and appearently the only one in 10yrs around here that they know of.
we can get some infor off the web of course, but much of it is conflicting, and rather baffeling and Id sure like some "been there, done that" advice/comments.
So if anyone can help me out, Id sure appriciate it!!!!
Thanks,
Tiffany

Hi, i've actually had it when i was 7. I had the same thing, but i had a silent sore thoart which means my thoart was extremely red and it didnt hurt and before my mom didnt even know i had a sore thoart, every morning i woke up with my face totally swollen and in the afternoon it went away. I had either high blood pressure or low and i threw up a few times from it. She took me to the doctor and i was admitted to the hospital. i guess i had a kidney infection from the strep thoart and it turned into what your daugther had...i think and really to help her get better theres a med i think its called amoxacilline (i think thats how you spell it) get lots of rest, dont go out in the cold. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask me
