I spoke of people who want to have children. Once again, I said if they are able, they do.

Is what you are saying that even if a person wants a child, they do not have it?

I know plenty of people in their 20s and 30s who are probably capable of bearing children, and who might even want children, but have various objections to procreating. They have logical, rational reasons for not wanting kids.

Hmm.
Have you never had spontaneous sex?

It's easy to have logical reasons NOT to have kids. They already know what that is like.

I don't think having a child falls within the realm of rational decision making for someone who has never had a child because you cannot REALLY know what it's actually like to have a child until you have one.

So, my question stands. Give me a logical reason to procreate? If you believe there is no logical reason to procreate, then why continue to do it?
No one can, it isn't logical. LIFE isn't logical. It is biological. Logic is a function of the mind. Life predates the mind. It isn't LOGICAL to expect there to be a rational reason to heed a biological impulse.

And if you actually want to follow this out, Steven Jay Gould did it far better, but the impulse is on the individual, but if you know a bit about endosymbosis, our genetics are those inherited from fundamentally simple organism (without any logic btw). That biological impulse to pass on those ancient base pairs is from them as well. That impulse was hardwired in all species before self-preservation was, let alone logic.

Well do they want them or don't they?

Of course I have. And it's not an accident that we haven't gotten pregnant!

Poorly worded. My mistake. They do want children, but have made a conscientious decision not to have them for various reasons.

Well that is their decision. We all have decisions in life. My decision was to have children, and I knew it would be that way far before I ever had them.

Oh, as for adoption, this is a biological response, that again varies within the individual. Some do not feel those biologically driven emotions as strongly (or sometimes at all) without the genetic connection. So for them, adoption does nothing to fulfill the biological impulse (especially since it is fundamentally about passing on genes). It is just as well that those people not adopt.
