Her name is Bea Johnson, and I've followed her blog for years. She is not a fruitcake, but she and her husband are very involved in environmental issues. Her husband, Scott, is a corporate sustainability consultant. Their focus is on reducing household landfill waste, and she has inspired my family to change our consumption habits dramatically. I think you would find that while she is very passionate, she also recognizes that she has access to an extraordinary number of farmers markets and bulk vendors that allow her to buy package free, sources that are not necessarily available to those of us living outside of the Bay Area. Her goal is to shed a light on the environmental cost of excessive and non-biogradable packaging. As for the tissues, she and her family use handkerchiefs, which she washes with the rest of the family laundry.

Like Zimbochick, Mattie, and others, I am not offended at all by Mommy Bloggers. I read what aligns with my interests and ignore the rest. I'm old enough to know that people naturally want to put their best face forward, but everything is not always what it seems. We all have stuff we don't want to put out there for public consumption, and that's as it should be.
