Yeah. The poll is missing some options. Where is the don’t confiscate the magazines and secretly give him the URLs to the free stuff online?

What she did is an indication of a quack. If anyone needs therapy, it's her.

I am told he is in therapy because she is convinced he is a sex addict just because a few of the pages were stuck together. And yet, the mags are nearly 30 years old! How does she know they weren't in that condition before he got a hold of them?

I feel sorry for the chap...and I am happy to report I have heard he has been uncooperative with his therapist.
It's as if she wants her son to be this way. There is something wrong here.

I would ask my son to throw them out then have a talk with him, non confrontational. About how damaging those seeds planted now, will be later in life. They turn into struggles which the child wouldn't normally have, or at least to that degree. Seeing people as objects to be used like rag dolls and not humans with real feelings.

The ramifications are too great to ignore but if humiliation is a part of the punishment, then my guess is the parent needs therapy for her dirty mind. Sometimes parents actually get off on making a private matter meant to be done in private... "a group thing" Even if it is just a verbal orgie and not the real thing, it's still a kinky side she's shown here. Maybe the son should lock his bedroom when he goes to bed each night

If the kid was under 10, I may take it and tell him he's not old enough. If he's older than that and going into pre-puberty, leave it. Who cares?

He'll be porking his girlfriend in a few years anyway.. may as well let him have some schooling via porn beforehand.

I think if I found Porn Mags in my son´s room I would have to have a serious talk with him about the use of technology.

That too.. I prefer to let them find that out on their own though. You know every teenage boy eventually types "Boobs" into Google and it's on from there.

My thoughts exactly. Well, except I'm positive my husband would have this talk to make it less awkward.

When I was a teen (maybe 9th grade) there was a book that my parents had that had naughty bits. I can't even remember how I discovered it, but given their massive book collection (we're talking 1000s of books), I figured they wouldn't miss it. I hid it in my room under my bed. I kept a very messy room - stuff under my bed, all over the floor - a mother's worst nightmare, really.

Well, one day I came home from school and my mom had dumped all of my belongings on my bed - every last thing that had been on the floor and under the bed. Of course, my mind went immediately to the book - I couldn't find it anywhere in my piles of stuff that I had to put away.

I kept waiting and waiting for the inevitable lecture - it never came. My mom confiscated it and never said a word. That was almost worse than getting a lecture.

I'll probably do the same with my kids, although you never know until it happens, right?
