Atlanta (CNN)Never has a single haircut caused such a fuss.

Some call it the "Benjamin Button Special;" others the "old man" cut.

In either case, it's supposed to be the cure for a misbehaving boy. A little bit of shame to get him back on track.

Is the 'old man' haircut the solution for misbehaving kids? - CNN.com

I agree. Never use shaming as a method of discipline - it is horrible thing to do.

It is also disrespectful towards seniors -- equating something negative to growing old and losing one's hair. That isn't right, either.

Good point. This was on our local news last night. The commentator ended with "Watch these kids turn the tables and make it into a fad."

My plan was to tattoo "I'm an idiot" onto the foreheads of kids who misbehave. Not sure why that didn't get traction.

I always feel kind of nauseous when I read stories like this. I really, really dislike the idea of publicly shaming a child.

Publicly shaming children: the tool used by parents who, when they are elderly and are no longer capable of living alone, want to ensure that their children put them in a board-and-care home with a lot of health-and-safety code violations.
