I think with my kids it was around 8 before I stopped checking the water temperature, but they were drying off and dressing well before that, probably at 6. Prior to 6 they preferred baths so they could play.
at 8 our son started doing showers, and getting dried and ready by himself as well.... our just turned 6 yr old twin boys like playtime in the tub still....
Thanks! My kids are 8 and 9 and super resistant to doing it all on their own...and I am sick of getting all wet helping out. I came up with a point game to get them used to doing it on their own. I just wanted to double check they were old enough.
Also 8ish, so yeah, they are old enough, and it's fine to come up with ways to gently make them do it. My son still offers to come hug me when he's dripping wet but at least I can duck and cover.
I'm not sure. I think around 5 or 6. She is 7 now. I usually shower with her. But she can shower by herself, and does it sometimes. (But she only showers by herself by choice. I wouldn't make her do it by herself at this age.)
