I cannot agree with much of the OP. I'll go point by point.

Very boring way to live. It's the life of the average golden retriever.

I always though kids' resemblance to their parents was pure coincidence </sarcasm> All kidding aside kids are a combination of their parents' genes so ugly parents don't always beget ugly children. And vice versa.
Except in my case one of my sons looks exactly like me, the other exactly like my wife.

Wrong again. One doesn't have to be a total optimist to expect something better. In most cases life is a mixed bag; some things go well, others go rotten.
Somebody117- you are either young, immature or just killing time by screwing with people on here. But what the hell- to add to the original posting header, I would say: The single most important thing a parent can do is BE PRESENT. Now that's a good generalization for listening, patience and non-distraction. Oh, and by the way, Willie Nelson ain't no hottie, and he's done really well for himself. So have Bob Dylan, Woody Allen, Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Bette Midler, Freda Kahlo, Hans Christian Andersen, Marty Feldman, John Candy, Melissa McCarthy, countless bankers, lawyers, doctors, artists and many others who grew up poor, not exactly hot model looking, or thin or whatever societal stereotypes you buy in to. The only thing holding you back is YOU...

Reason: missed a word
The best thing a parent can do is set a good example. If you are educated, your children are more likely to be as well. If you are hard-working, your children will probably be too. Same goes for being honest, fair, kind, etc. Likewise, if you use drugs or don't work, or are disrespectful, etc. your children probably will be too.
OP - If you make an ass out of yourself, there will always be someone to ride you. Stop this foolishness, get out there and make something of your life.
So... you are ugly because your parents passed on their 'ugly' genes? And because you have those ugly genes you think you'll never find women or be successful?
Except obviously your parents found each other, and apparently being poor didn't stop them from finding some enjoyment in life either. If they are happy with their lives they are successful whether or not they have a lot of money.
People who are poor and ugly can still find happiness, just go to any walmart and look around, lol.
