It's a joke. Sarcasm aimed at whiny teenagers by parents frustrated with trying to raise kids who have reached the age where they know enough but not everything, only they don't KNOW they don't know everything.

It's a humorous way of saying, "don't like it? You try being in charge for a while."

Well more and more teenagers are getting emancipated, so they're doing exactly what the sign says.

I was emancipated at 17. It was a paper my parents signed...no big deal.

It's much easier when your parents are agreeable. If they aren't, it is as Pitt Chick said, complicated and expensive.

No, but some teenagers are in situations where they might be better off getting emancipated.

Im not against parents. What Im against is conflict with parents. Sometimes, depending on the situation, the best way to avoid conflict with parents is by separating yourself from them.

Well supposedly lots of parents would be agreeable since lots of parents like the sign that I put the link to in the first post.
