If you want strategy games, there's Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride - both games my kids LOVE.

There are also classic games like Scrabble, Monopoly, and Checkers.
I can second Ticket to Ride.

I agree with this 100%

Other family games we've enjoyed is Family Trivial Pursuit (it has two decks, one for adults, one for kids), spoons (kind of like musical chairs, only with spoons on a table), and Pictionary.

If you can get the under 12s out of the room, Cards Against Humanity is a lot of fun.
I saw a group of young adults playing Cards against Humanity once. Seems like 13 is still pretty young IMO, as some of the questions (a fairly good bit of them actually), where very purposefully suggestive.

Lastly, Cornhole is a good game too if it isn't freezing outside.

No love for Yahtzee? Easy to play, quick and everyone can play.

Yeah, I would not play Cards Against Humanity with anyone younger then 18.

And its really not the kind of game to play with family unless the family is incredibly laid back and impossible to offend.

1. Jenga
2. Pit (card / bell game)
3. Pictionary
4. Apples to Apples (kids/adults) or Cards Against Humanity (Adults only)
5. Taboo

9+ spoons - 5 year olds might not be able to move that fast

Uno is fun for everyone. Consider getting two packs if you're playing with a crowd.

Checkers - older can teach younger if they don't already know.

I also agree with Apples to Apples. Great game.
