My genius stepson got a full ride from the engineering school at Georgia Tech and at the time his grammar and punctuation was appalling. He is now a grownup and writes like one.

Mom will be alright once you're gone.
Right now she's probably filled with a bit of dismay, fear and anger. Her anger's what's keeping her in her room.
Once you're gone she'll have to get up...and maybe she'll come to accept what is...and become a more content person.
I can see being "nervous" about leaving for school...but you really shouldn't feel nervous about leaving mom...she'll come around, and probably with a glint of pride in her eye....goodluck

I was thinking the same thing. This is what passes for 'education' these days? Tax dollars being ripped off, we aren't getting our money's worth.

Well I don't think he'll be getting graded on this, so...

Also, a huge percentage of GT students are non-native English speakers, and/or first generation Americans.
