And we wonder why medical malpractice insurance raises the cost of health care. Geez...Mom does need a hobby.

That whole story seems a bit odd to me. The surgical consent is very clear. The physician explains the procedure to the mother, the mother signs it along with the Dr. and a witness, usually an R.N....at least where I come from.

As the mom of two boys, they do a very thorough job of explaining how things are done and ask if you want to observe or not, um NOT in my case . I guess I just don't see how this can be messed up but who knows. I really feel sorry for the kid if he has parents like that.

Sounds like another person trying to get money out of the system. Pathetic.

This seems ridiculous.

It was very simple for me. My son was born, he never left my side, we left about 19- 20 hours later. If this woman really had "changed her mind", where did she think they were taking her newborn when he left for the procedure?? My sister's boys were both circumcised. She and her husband were briefed to the point of overkill, it was done, her babies were put back into her arms. End of story. Where was the confusion with the woman in the story?

Please. Blame, blame, blame. Where is it getting her? Poor little guy. Can you imagine what the parent-teacher conferences will look like in 5 years? Yikes!

We did not circumsize, and even THEN we were given paperwork to fill out.

So was she not happy with how it 'looked' or did she not want the procedure?

crazy people in this world, I tell you....

I generally agree with the general attitudes posted but...

What if she DID change her mind, and all the briefings, discussions, witnessing etc. that you all are describing in YOUR experiences didn't happen? Wouldn't you want to keep that from happening to someone else?

But I guess that's why we have judges, right?
