You are wrong.

Of course, if you think you are right, feel free to prove your points. With verifiable facts.

Whatever you do, don't reprimand him for looking at GAY porn. I too was once 13 and looked at gay porn because I was having internal thoughts that I didn't know how to figure out.

Long story short, my parents caught me and reprimanded me for looking at GAY porn, specifically. 13 year olds shouldn't be looking at porn period, but the fact they went out of their way to make it much more wrong because it was gay made my acceptance of my sexuality down the road that much more of an obstacle.

Now I'm 23, still gay, and no amount of punishment for looking at gay porn when I was 13 would have changed that (but that's not saying your son is gay, but good to know it's the porn you have an issue with, not the fact it's gay porn).

Hahaha what?

"Change" his uncertainty? You can't **** the gay away with women, just like it can't be prayed away or counseled away.

I guess you could encourage him to "act" straight if he's gay...but Jesus, why would you want him to suppress who he is.

But that's all assuming he isn't straight. 13 is sometimes too young to tell, but that's something he has to figure out on his own.

Most likely, I'd say your son is or will identify as gay. At 13, being curious about sex didn't lead me to look at gay porn, I wanted to see naked women. So chalking it up to curiosity... I think you're kidding yourself.

I would hope that you tell his father about this. In my experience, women (mothers) are about the worst people to talk to their sons about sex and sexual orientation. It's the rare few that can have that conversation without butchering it and leading to a lot of unnecessary embarrassment.

You handled this beautifully and I think you are a great, loving Mom. I know nothing about these issues except I believe your son was completely honest with you regarding his lack of clarity regarding his sexual preferences. I recall, when my younger brother was in his late teens he flirted with the concept of being gay. He did some exploration. Our parents were very liberal so I don't think he was fearful or rebellious....simply curious. He has now been happily married to the same woman for 30 years. But even if he had determined that he was gay, I would be pleased if he found a loving partner (of any gender) to share his life with.

This may be an unpopular opinion here, but you should respect his privacy.

Nobody I knew when I was 13 (8 years ago) used the internet to meet up with strangers, we would only use the internet for video games, porn, and other harmless things. I'm sure things are the same way now.
