We are not a church going family but we do celebrate most holidays built around the Christian religion. It dawned on me Thursday I had not even thought about Easter Baskets for our 11 year old daughters. My DH tells me we stopped Easter baskets several years ago but honestly I don't remember. I have some friends with no children who make up elaborate Easter Baskets for each other every year which seems a bit silly. Who needs a holiday to give their spouse a gift?

So when did you stop with Easter Baskets for your kids?

My daughters are 16 and 18. We still do a small basket with more age appropriate gifts--iTunes gift cards, bath stuff, Barnes and noble gift cards. Always have to include the chocolate bunny though.

I make Easter baskets for everyone I invite to dinner. This year I am inviting 4, so I will be making 7 baskets.

I do it because I love, love, love filling baskets. I collect them all year long (especially right after Easter!) and use them for gift giving throughout the year. Who doesn't like getting a nice basket of goodies?

I stopped once they lost interest in the egg hunt, in the middle school years. I never filled baskets, I would put candy and small toys into the eggs. Believe it or not, none of my kids are into chocolate, so the bunnies were a waste of money. Once the hunts ended, eldest got a bag of jelly beans, middle got Peeps, and youngest got Reeses Pieces. That's all they wanted anyway.

No baskets, or candy these days

I have a basket just for DH this year (and me!).
But the "kids" still wanted and will have their egg hunt. Mine and their cousins... all in their 20s.

I love doing things like that... and it is appreciated. So do it we will!

I just realized I hadn't even thought about an Easter basket for my DD this year. She's 14. I don't think I did a basket last year or the previous year either. I usually get her a little something --- iTunes card or something and some candy. This year, I took her clothes shopping for her Easter gift (even though I had planned on taking her shopping anyway, Easter or not).

I think good age to stop doing baskets would be 19.

My Aunt has 4 boys and the oldest is 52. Whenever they come visit for Easter she does baskets for the grandchildren as well as the adults. My cousins are very competitive and my Aunt has gotten really good at hiding the adult eggs. They take it as a challenge and even though they laugh that their Mom still does this, you can tell they really enjoy it.
