I think that Madonna doing this for her kids is AWESOME>. but that just goes to show that Madonna REMEMBERS where she came from.. adn that's is what helped build her character and appreciation for what she has..

Being Madonna's kid, although there is money.. would come with other problems.. LOL But you don't see her kids thrust in the media too much and are pretty well protected from that.. which I find is awesome.

Just checking to see if we were indeed talking about the same show.
Did you watch the video I posted? Thats what I'm talking about. This chick is beyond spoiled-- even more than the ones on MTV. Seriously, how can anyone f-up cereal?!

I watched that episode of Wife Swap that the video you posted came from. That girl better live with her parents forever! They even did her homework for her!! Beauty doesn't last forever. You need a high school education. These parents are setting her up for a lot of dissapointment in life! She's living in a bubble.

I think you'd be surprised at how many kids would forgo Christmas presents for other things/time spent with family.
Two Christmas's ago we decided to go to San Diego for long weekend instead of presents. My son loved the concept so much he asked if we could just do it every year.
Unfortunately we couldn't afford a trip this year. But what we did do was just get one family present that we all enjoy together.
Hopefully this year we can do a trip again. The family time is so much better. Most gifts kids get for Christmas are played with for about a week, then put aside.

Don't forget that these types of shows are STILL scripted for shock/entertainment value.

My friend, her DH and 4 kids were featured on a national show that high-lighted kids' table manners. She sent me a link and I was frankly appalled & shocked because I know my friends to be disciplinarians. The kids were wild and mouthy and exhibited no table manners! Turns out they were TOLD to act that way by the producers. My friend told me that one of the kids threw a dinner roll across the table (as instructed) and both she & her son were scared that DH was going to burst a blood vessel.
