Sometimes you just have to stand your ground! LOL
Seriously, that's horrible for those children. As a parent you really have to be careful.
Some of the stars are famous for wacky names, Bob Geldof comes to mind...Tiger Lily was just one..Fifi Trixibelle, I forget the other name....

Same here. I went with the road less traveled for my daughters, Cora and Jillian. Older names most people have heard of, but there isn't a ton of them. For my son, I just had to have a Samuel. Boys named Sam tend to be a little ornery, and I just had to have one. Boy does he live up to expectations!

Aw, momlady! A few years ago I went through a Cora phase and a Jillian phase, respectively, when I wanted to name my kids (or someone's kids) those names. Last month I had a Samuel phase (no kidding) because I thought that Sam would go with the name Sara, creating SAMSARA (Indians interpret that as the cycle of life/reincarnation). I'm not big on reincarnation as a concept but I found the idea of the brother and sister and cycle of life very... fairy tale-ish and beautiful.

Man, I HATE when the stars name their kids something wacky. How about Phinneaus and Hazel...Hazel has a chance but, they better send a bodyguard with Little Phinneaus to school. Apple...I HATE IT and seriously Suri?? Look at Moon Unit Zappa, wow! A name means a lot. When I hear of a kid named Tiger Lily, she's probably gonna be a stripper and Phinneaus, I imagine the kid in the back of the bus eating his own boogers.

I am seeing a return of old fashioned names in the school I work. Anita, Cora, Lily, Hayden,( my husband has a ggguncle named this) to name a few.
I also see a trend of
ton/don/den in the spelling of boys, Dayton, Hayden,Peyton names~ tons of those names for boys

I was just reading that JLO named her babies Max and Emme - like the characters in Dragontales and this reminded me of someone I know who named their daughter Maisy - another kids show lol

I immediately thought of "Dragon Tales" when I heard that. Later I realized they were bilingual and thought maybe that's why she named them that. Heck, she could have gone with Dora and Diego.

Can I just say that I am so tired of the "cutsey" boy's name Max. Ughh, poor kids! It's just so overused and sooooooo "cute."
and Emme, ever since Jennifer Aniston's character on "Friends" wanted to name her baby Emma, the name Emily/Emma/Emme has been over-done as well.
Too bad JLo couldn't use a bit more creativity...

Most of the names you guys have listed really arent that bad. You want to hear really bad names just tune into any episode of the Maury show and hilarity will ensue when you hear the names of some of his guests.
Max, Cody, Skyler, Emma are all names that should be shelved for a loooooong time.

I am not sure how "out there" these names are but I had never heard of them until this year. In my class I have girls- Teagan, Tierney, Naia, and Jaiya. I also have a few Presley's and Janese seems to be very popular.
