We didn't start the Santa tradition until my older two children were 2 and 5, respectively. It happened by accident when they saw the Santa Tracker on the news and informed me that I was mistaken and that Santa is real. So, I went along with it and realized how much fun it is. Is it a lie? Absolutely not! Santa is my wintertime alter ego, like Clark Kent and Superman. Santa blows a bunch of money and spoils the **** out of everyone once per year, puts Pop Tarts in their stockings, and even buys them brand new non-thrift store clothes. I love being Santa, and will continue to do so, long after they discover my secret identity.
