Great overall post but I would finish that last part with "I would suggest getting fixed ie not having kids." A parenting class can be of debatable value too as I suspect more than a few would detail the horrors of spanking and point to those same "experts" as "proof" they're right.
Again it's not as simple as you should or shouldn't spank. But it can be a very effective disciplinary tool, used properly and as a last resort.
Also water is wet. Good grief - when did so many people stop having a clue about parenting anyway? It's so bad we actually have commercials now pleading for people to "be the parent." Yes, many people actually need to hear this, believe it or not. Is it all part of that "I hate common sense" movement??
