Exactly, and if someone is listed on the site, people need to actually read what it says, then do more research before telling their friends & neighbors what they saw. You also need to check the laws in your state but telling people someone lives on your block could actually get you in trouble.

Way back when this was started it was abused and used wrong.
I know someone that was arrested on drug charges and ended up doing some sort of plea bargain that he ended up listed as endangering the welfare of a minor. He said they never explained to him what it was and he had no clue how it would affect his life for 14 years now. If a child went missing, he'd be pulled into a line up even if he had an alibi, was at work, what ever.

Something like this was needed but for people that really are a problem, not some guy that had playboy in his house that he shared with his young kids & wife...

Yes, I think we, as a society, are labeling too many people as "sex offenders". One came up in our neighborhood recently and many people freaked out about him. The stupid thing is that they're too vague in listing the offense. This guy was not listed as a pedophile, or a rapist. Obviously as a father, I'd be concerned if we had a registered pedophile or rapist nearby. But what did this guy do? Like you said, if he peed in public, I could care less?. I know the guy from the gym and he's a normal, if not better than average looking guy in his lower 20s with a girlfriend.

And recently in our local news a priest was caught jogging naked in the woods, which is quite odd, but he claimed it was because he was a heavy sweater, only did it at dawn, and somewhere where people normally were not present. Now he's on the sex offenders list. Personally, I don't think public nudity should be reason to brand someone for life. I think to be a sexual offender, sex should have been involved!
