I agree, 2 piece outfits like jeans and tops are pointless! I also never like the one pieces or pajamas that had snaps going down the front. One zipper is much quicker and easier!

Depends on the time of year they are born. My baby brother was a summer baby and he wore diapers, the little white T-shirts with the side snaps (remember those?) and the really thin diaper shirts. I don't think they even make those anymore.

I wasn't lucky enough to have summer babies, so my newborns wore sleepers, ones made of 100% cotton. I HATE fleece/polyester, etc.

Sleepers with elastic on the bottom so you can change the baby without walking them. That’s all you need

Onesies forever! Especially when they're starting to crawl. It's so much easier for them to maneuver.

My mother was always putting my daughter in cute little dresses and my daughter couldn't crawl easily or be comfortable in them. I figured that was more important, so as soon as grandma was gone - off came the cute dresses, and on went the onesie.

I think it's important to think in terms of whether or not the baby will get wadded up in the clothing and be uncomfortable.

I love the way tiny babies look in jammies or a onesie with a soft pair of cotton pants. I think they look 100x cuter then in jeans or a dress.

Jeans...I'm sure my kids were walking before I even considered them.

I put away my son's newborn and 0-3 month clothes by the time he was six weeks old. I honestly could have gotten by with 3 or 4 onesies and nothing else; I do laundry every day because we're using cloth diapers and one of the many blankets I received took care of the rest of his covering-up needs.

In theory I love the zip-up sleepers, but the ones I got were such a large size range that they bunched up around his face and made middle-of-the-night feeding a big hassle!

No jeans. Maybe some bodysuits with cotton pants. Sleepers are easier for diaper changing, though.

I thought the same thing about newborn clothes - we won't need them. Then my baby was born early and I hand to send someone to the store for premie clothes.

Who puts their baby in jeans?? I never did. It was onesies all summer and in winter those long dress like things - preferably the kind that buttoned, because he hated anything going over his head.

They definitely still do the tshirts with the side snaps! I had about half a dozen plain white ones for my oldest (born 2013). I got them at Babies R Us. He was a July baby.

I cloth diapered him so at home he often just a side snap tshirt with a cute cloth diaper.

If your in an area with seasons, it's having the right size clothing for winter weather. I used the heck out of a thick warm zip up sack. Plenty of room to kick yet perfect for bundling out into the cold. I think that thing was sized 3-6 months yet I used it on my newborn.

Anyway, that was my thought with infants and babies. When mine was 9 months old he was wearing one year old clothes. Those one year old clothes had to be weather appropriate. For example, when he was 9 months it was summer and he needed rompers, not those cute thick sweaters. Some of those baby shower presents were rarely worn, they weren't appropriate.
