I believe my parents met in a night club around 35 years ago now.

70+ years ago. My parents met in a nightclub/bar in Belgium in 1946, just after the war. My dad was still in the Army. Both are gone now.

My parents met in high school. She went to a girls' school and he went to an all boys military academy. Mom needed a date for a school dance, so her brother set up a blind date between my parents and they really hit it off. After that, her parents wouldn't let her date him, so they eloped to Las Vegas the day after he turned 18 (one one of them had to be 18 to get married in Vegas back then).

My parents hung around in a gang of friends from grade school days. I don’t know how they all originally met, but the gang consisted of my mother, her best childhood friend, my father, my father’s cousin, and a friend my father worked with. There was another girlfriend and her brother, and then the gang branched out into a few others.

My dad and mom got married during the war, in 1943, and her best friend married my dad’s cousin. Their “gang” continued to be close friends all through my childhood.

I'm older than most of you who've posted so far. My parents were WW II veterans. On New Year's Eve, 1945, my mom, on leave from her duty at a veteran's hospital in Michigan (war was over, she served in New Guinea and the Philippines) went to NYC to visit her brother, stationed there in the Navy. He had a friend with him, a Merchant Marine also stationed there (had also been in England, Argentina and S. Africa). I don't know if my uncle was match making or it just happened, but there in Times Square my mom and dad met.

My parents met in high school in Chicago in 1941. Mom was a hall monitor. Dad was a grade ahead of her and, after seeing her in the hall every day for a while, asked her to a school dance. They were married in 1946, after the war was over and Dad was back from military service.

Years later, Mom chose "1517" as her PIN number for the ATM because she had been 15 and Dad 17 when they met. She died in 2001; Dad is still alive at 93.

They met at a dance hall everyone used to go to back in the 30's. Married exactly 6 months before Pearl Harbor.

My parents met at a high school dance in 1970. They got married in 1973 the day after their graduation. They are the happiest couple I know and have raised nine children (including two of my cousins). We are all looking forward to celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary in June.

At their siblings' wedding. My father's sister married my mother's brother several years before they married.
