So, I'm searching for a birthday gift for a toddler age girl. I know she'd really like a purse putting things in it to carry around. Most of toy purses I see on Amazon have a fake credit card that goes along with it. No wonder why many Americans are in deep debt with credit cards. I just don't feel like we need to encourage it with children. Best use fake money to teach children to buy things. Credit cards really should only be used in emergencies like car repair. I know she probably won't understand what a credit card is but still.... idk that's just me.

Lol @ emergencies.
Maybe people wouldn't be in debt if they knew how to use the cards properly instead of some kooky all-or-nothing nonsense. The purse and card could be a great way to start this conversation.
Or buy a toy wallet with a credit card and use that to teach a child what credit is and how to use it appropriately. I have credit cards and I very rarely use cash. I make money off them because I pay them off in full each month yet get the benefit of cash back. My son has grown up understanding that credit cards are not "free money" but an alternate form of payment that provides some benefits and protections cash does not. He's actually kind of horrified at the idea of going into debt, because I did my job as a parent regardless of what type of payment I prefer to use.
OP - the examples parents set by how they live their lives and communicate to their children throughout their lives is how children learn. Toddlers having pretend credit cards is immaterial.
