Every year we participate in a giving tree and this year we selected a 7 year old boy with tag requesting "clothing (size 8) & Action Figure Toy." We reside in the Northeast so winter clothing would be appropriate. We usually spend $25. I am out of touch with what is popular these days so I'd appreciate any suggestions on specific items and where I might items find at reasonable prices. thanks.

If he is asking for clothing, he probably needs a good winter coat. I don't know if Costco has a child's ski jacket for under $25, but it is worth a look.

If you can't get the coat, I recomend a cotton Henley. Those are perfect for layering and good for moderately chilly weather. Chose a Navy blue or charcoal color. That will match everything and they never go out of style.

I have no idea what action figure a kid would want, but transformers are always good.

For the action figure toy, just go to the toy aisle in Target and get some ideas.

My 7-year old is very in to Pokemon, Nerf guns, and Super Heroes.

He wouldn't ask for clothes, but he likes to wear hoodies, especially if they have pockets.

One set of my nephews range in age from 5 to 10. They've been into all of the Marvel Super Heroes and Star Wars. I think Batman is "dead" to them these days.
