I can't remember if I got my nephew a gift or not, but if I did it was a small amount of cash, $25 or so, and a card. They're typically heading to college so every little bit helps.

He is still in homeschool, so not off to college quite yet.

I'll do either a small gift and card or a gift card and note card...found a note card specifically for the Honor Ceremony.

These are good ideas. If you are not in the mood to shop, a gift card to a store that specializes in outdoor and sporting goods, might be appropriate. Someplace like Gander Mountain.

No one ever said "no" to cash. You can always slip a $50 bill into a "Congratulations" card.

Personally, I think it's quite an achievement, and if I were invited to this event, I can't imagine going "empty handed". After all, we give gifts for childbirth, weddings, and new homes. This involves actual work.

My nephew was given mostly cards with small amounts of cash or a gift card tucked inside.
