You say he asks for sodas, candy etc....do you give it to him?
refined Sugar can really effect (big time) a kids behavior....it's like a destructive drug they crave, and it's truly amazing how their behavior can change when it's no longer in their diet.

Poor kid. Divorce + moving + additional guardians + therapy = a lot to handle. And it's so common for the middle kid to get the shaft, especially in difficult times.

All kids ask for candy and then get cranky when they don't get it.

My kids took to speaking disrespectfully to my MIL because she allowed it. Drove me nuts. We stopped it by calling them out on it and rephrasing things to model appropriate speech until she got the backbone to do it herself.

It's the same discipline stuff you read in any other thread. Model the behavior you want to see, positive reinforcement, and consistency are key.

And don't diagnose ADHD unless you have been trained to do so.
