^^The phone desk at the pediatrics office where I worked got many calls about babies somehow "bouncing" themselves off a countertop onto the floor in a bouncer. You had a good policy.

I put my newborns in something like this all the time. I had a little head stabilizing pillow. my girls were 9+ pounds at birth but I still think even your average 7 lb newborn is fine in one of these. THey would even curl up on their side to nap in it. I carried it everywhere so I could keep them with me...shower, kitchen, chores, etc. It was so lightweight. My oldest in particular liked to march her feet to make it bounce. She could keep that up for hours.
